🚨 Problem
Advisors Crypto had established itself as a legitimate, SEC-compliant investment firm with over $50M AUM. However, scaling operations required building robust digital platforms for asset custody, client onboarding, and compliance — while integrating seamlessly with third-party custodians like Anchorage and Gemini.
🎨 Design & UX
I worked closely with stakeholders to design a compliance-first experience for both advisors and clients. The platform needed to balance usability with rigorous compliance workflows, ensuring financial transparency and regulatory alignment.
⚙️ Technical Architecture
I led the build-out of the platform from its initial MVP in late 2023 through a full-scale production system. The codebase evolved across 5 repositories — backend, frontend, admin panel, MVP, and a unified monorepo — eventually consolidated into a 10M+ line TypeScript monorepo for streamlined development and deployment.
- Frontend: Next.js (React) for client dashboards, advisor portals, and admin panels — evolved from separate repos into a unified monorepo
- Backend: Initially Laravel (JavaScript, 3.7M+ lines), later migrated core services to TypeScript in the consolidated monorepo
- Admin Panel: Dedicated admin dashboard for back-office operations, compliance reviews, and user management
- Cloud Infrastructure: Azure cloud services for secure, compliant hosting
- Custodian Integrations: Anchorage & Gemini APIs for digital asset custody, trade execution, and compliance workflows
- Compliance: Automated onboarding pipelines, KYC/AML checks, fee calculations, balance syncing, and custodian status tracking
📱 Final Mockups
Final designs focused on clarity and trust, giving advisors and investors confidence in the platform while ensuring back-office compliance workflows were automated.
🧩 Technical Challenges
- Integrating with custodian APIs (Anchorage, Gemini)required handling complex onboarding and transaction flows.
- Building a scalable compliance pipeline for onboarding, fees, balances, trades, and transactions across multiple custodians.
- Ensuring real-time visibility into user accounts, survey scores, and custodian status while maintaining strict security.

I was the lead developer and technical architect on this project from its inception in late 2023 through ongoing development. Across the backend, frontend, admin, and monorepo repositories, I authored 695+ commits — the highest contributor on the team — leading a group of 5+ developers.
